For my launch event at the magical garden Tuin de Lage Oorsprong in Oosterbeek, I created a short trailer that reflects what TJALLINGII is about. It tells the story of a woman who writes her own fairytale — not through rescue or validation, but through self-recognition and self-love. Just as my jewelry embraces gemstones with rare hues, shifting tones, and soft imperfections, this story is about finding beauty and strength in what makes us unique.
I was recently interviewed by Bizzita about my journey from the courtroom to the jeweler’s bench. In this conversation, I share how my background as a lawyer influences the way I see beauty, and how my designs aim to connect values with aesthetics. It was a pleasure to reflect on the path that brought me here, and I’m delighted to share the full story with you.
In collaboration with designer Sas de Vries I created a series of elegant goat leather pouches, inspired by the clean, modern lines of the princess cut diamond. Each pouch is entirely handcrafted in the Netherlands, a reflection of true craftsmanship and timeless design.
Every ring I make is part of a numbered series—unique, one of a kind, and created with the highest attention to detail. With each ring, I gift this matching numbered pouch, designed exclusively for that piece. It is a refined and sustainable alternative to traditional packaging, meant to complement the jewel while also standing as a work of design in its own right.
The complete presentation is as thoughtful as the jewel itself: the ring rests safely in a lacquered wooden box, accompanied by its certificate of authenticity, while the pouch offers an additional touch of artistry and character. Together, they form a lasting statement of beauty, craftsmanship, and care—made to be treasured for a lifetime.
Judith Woolderink (1981) studied law in Utrecht and is a practicing attorney. She runs her own law firm and specializes in environmental law. Additionally, under her maiden name Tjallingii, Judith designs an exceptional collection of one of a kind floral rings.
For Judith, combining these two worlds comes naturally. Her mind and heart are not separate but form a unified whole. This unity reflects her view of the law: there are no hard boundaries in law, as it is not static but often a matter of interpretation, intent, and balancing interests. Like a diamond, the law reveals a different reality from every perspective, requiring intelligence and creativity to navigate its facets. Judith blends this complexity with the brilliance of gemstones in her designs, a process she refers to as “aesthetic intelligence.”
